On Stage

In 2008, under the banner of her company, Fault Line Theatre, Melissa premiered her first one-woman show called Lupe: Undone. The show was a site specific extravaganza as part of the Toronto Fringe Festival and went on to be named a Critic’s Pick, Best Production and Best Performance for Melissa. Lupe: Undone was awarded Best of the Fringe and held over at the Diesel Playhouse. The show was subsequently invited to be a part of the UNO Festival (Intrepid Theatre) in Victoria, British Columbia and the Oh Solo Mio Festival in London. Lupe: Undone continues to shake up audiences, and was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award in the category of Best Solo Show in 2009.
On the heels of the success of Lupe: Undone, Melissa wrote and produced the sold-out hit A Very Lupe Xmas and the original musical Lupe’s Next Top Lupe. The character Lupe was even crowned a Hero of 2008 by popular website torontoist.com alongside politicians and business tycoons!
